Playstation Home

My old blog has this post, but I’m taking it down from there and putting it here.

I feel like people have a negative perception of Playstation Home & I did too at one time, but I obviously had a change of heart. I’ve decided to take it upon myself to demystify some things.

For those of you who don’t know what PSH (Playstation Home) is, it’s basically a chatroom with games & avatars. You also have voice chat options.  It’s free & you can earn free rewards. There are certain things you can pay for if you so choose to spend the money. If not, it’s no big deal. Clothes , hair, shoes & accessories usually run from .25 - .99.

I can’t lie PSH is full of annoying / desperate male avatars & this is what does turn most people off to Home. I recommend Home for people who have established friendships / acquaintances I.E. clans or people who are part of a community or clan. It’s a lot more fun that way.

Once you have someone or a group of people, you’ll be at your Harbour apartment. From there you have a choice; discover* or stay there. If you choose to stay there simply invite the person to your place or vice versa. You can enable voice chat, just don’t forget to hit R2 to talk.

Now if you choose to go out, there is still some privacy. You can start a group  (it is free, no worries) & type within only that channel meaning no one will see it. You will have to enable text by typing /G text here to get back to local chat you must type /L text here this is the fastest way to do it. Actually, here are all the codes:

/G Group chat
/L Local chat (public)
/C Club chat
/PM userID

Anyway, if you don’t want to type and you’ve created a group you can still use your voice chat through group & no one will hear you. Usually if people notice you’re not responding to them they leave so this the best way to enjoy your Home experience so you are free to enjoy playing games & earning rewards!

Now go out & give Home a second chance.

Also, if you have any questions about Home feel free to use my ask box & I’ll answer what I know. :)

*I’ll do a later post on how to explore with pics.
